Although the registration process for the first attempt of the admission exam has not yet been completed, it is observed that the majority of those who registered chose the I specialty group. However, in previous years, the III specialty group usually dominated this indicator. This year, it seems that Group I will be the leader.
Considering that the passing scores in Group I are lower than in Group III, but the subjects are quite difficult.
It is interesting, what is the main reason for the increase in the number of those who chose the I specialty group?
Science and education expert Sabuh Abdullayev gave a statement to AzEdu.az on the topic.

He noted that individuals from other specialty groups can also later turn to the field of law through a second higher education:
“It is observed that the number of applicants for the I specialty group is almost equal to half of the total applications. This is primarily due to the large number of specialties in that group, relatively low passing scores, and wide range of plan places. In other words, a higher chance of admission encourages applicants to choose the I specialty group.
Especially this year, this advantage is felt more prominently. The decrease in applications for the III specialty group can be explained by several reasons. One of them is the high passing scores in this group. Another important reason is that the main competition in this group is built on the law specialty.
In recent years, the creation of opportunities for a second higher education in law has changed the situation. Now, individuals from other specialty groups can also later turn to the field of law through a second higher education. For this reason, instead of choosing a more difficult and competitive path, applicants consider it more advantageous to first be admitted to other specialty groups, and then switch to the field of law through a second higher education.
At the same time, the higher demand for fields related to the I specialty group in the labor market also increases the interest of both applicants and parents in this direction".
