As of July 14, the test exams for the teacher recruitment competition for the 2026-2027 academic year have started.
Farid Farajli, an informatics teacher at Nizami Alishanov Mashlig village full secondary general education school in Jalilabad district, was one of the teachers who showed high results in the MIQ exam.
The teacher, who was the country's first with 100 points last year, participated in the exam again this year and scored 90 points.
AzEdu.az contacted the teacher on this occasion and learned about his impressions.
I will continue to work harder on myself in the coming years to further improve my results:
“For me, the MIQ exam is primarily one of the most objective tools to evaluate myself, identify my weaknesses, and see my development directions. People cannot always see their shortcomings. However, when comparing the results obtained in real exam conditions with previous years, it is possible to analyze the level of development more accurately.
This year, I scored 90 points in the MIQ exam, including the coefficient. Last year, I was the country's first with a score of 100. I will try to further improve my results by working harder on myself in the coming years.”
Only informatics knowledge is not enough for a high result, a strong mathematical base has also become an important factor:
“I would like to note about the difficulty of the exam that if there is an exam, difficulty is inevitable. When looking at the questions later, in a calm environment, they may not seem so complex. However, solving the same questions in a real exam environment, under time pressure and psychological tension, requires completely different skills.
Overall, I believe that this year's MIQ was more complex compared to previous years. Especially for teachers participating for the first time or preparing individually, 55-65 points can be considered a fairly high result. Because year by year, both new question types increase, and questions require more mathematical thinking. Now, only informatics knowledge is not enough for a high result, a strong mathematical base has also become an important factor.”
For now, I have no intention of working in Baku. I want to continue my activity in my village school:
“This was my fourth participation in the MIQ exams. For the first time in 2019, I scored 39 points in the exam based on the 60-point system. In 2020, due to the pandemic, working teachers were not allowed to take the exam. In 2021, I increased my score to 52 points and became the regional first by showing the highest result in all sessions held in the Southern region. Last year, I scored 100 points and became the country's first.
This development path showed me that continuous effort and self-analysis always yield results. I have been engaged in pedagogical activity for 8 years now. During these years, I have co-authored more than 10 books, and I have many successful students and high results.
The main reason why I did not participate in the vacancy selection both in the year I scored 100 points and this year is that I work in my village, in the village school, and for now, I have no intention of leaving here. It is true that during these years I have received numerous offers from Baku city, especially from educational institutions that need strong informatics teachers.
However, I believe that if all educated teachers go to Baku, the opportunity for students studying in the regions to receive lessons from a quality teacher will decrease. Children studying in village schools also have the right to receive education from a professional teacher. That is why I have decided to continue my activity in my native village for now.”
