"Looking at the physics questions from the admission exams for I and IV specialty groups held yesterday, it can be noted that the questions were fully prepared in accordance with the admission program and the secondary school physics level."
Tahmina Huseynova, "Exemplary Teacher" and physics teacher, told AzEdu.az these words.
She noted that students who were well-prepared and had systematically mastered the topics had sufficient opportunities to answer these questions:
"It is natural for some applicants to express opinions about the difficulty of the questions after the exam. This is because the admission exam is not only about checking knowledge but also about differentiating among applicants.
Most of the tasks presented in physics covered topics taught in school. Questions from the sections of electric field, magnetic field, electromagnetic induction, alternating current, photoelectric effect, molecular physics, and mechanics were prepared within the program framework. Along with tasks requiring direct formula application, there were also examples that required understanding the essence of physical phenomena and conducting logical analysis.
In my opinion, the physics section can generally be assessed as having a medium difficulty level. Although individual questions were somewhat thought-provoking, no tasks outside the program or with non-standard content were encountered. Applicants who were well-prepared and had systematically mastered the topics had sufficient opportunities to answer these questions."
Compared to last year's admission exam, the main notable point this year is that the questions were more concept and application-oriented:
"While in previous years the calculation component predominated in some tasks, this year understanding the essence of physical laws, establishing connections between different topics, and correctly analyzing the given information came to the forefront. This approach serves to evaluate real knowledge and skills, rather than rote learning.
Overall, I believe that the physics questions for both I and IV specialty groups were in line with the admission program, balanced, and had a selective characteristic. The main purpose of the exam is to identify applicants with a high level of preparation, and the tasks presented served this purpose."
