Cases related to rule violations during graduation exams become a topic of discussion every year. In particular, the discovery of mobile phones or other prohibited items on students results in their expulsion from the exam.
Can 9th-grade students who face such situations participate in the 11th-grade graduation exam in the future? In general, are students expelled from the exam given the opportunity to retake the exam?
Regarding the topic, AzEdu.az Education Portal sent an inquiry to the State Examination Center (SEC).
In response to our inquiry, the SEC stated that if a phone is found on a 9th-grade student during the exam and they are expelled from the exam, 0 points are written in their certificate instead of the graduation exam grade:
"However, the student is also assessed at school for that subject. Then the final annual grades are written. That is, if the student continues their education, they study in the 10th, then 11th grade, and of course, they also participate in the 11th-grade graduation exam.
If a phone is found in the 11th-grade exam, the student does not retake the exam, and 0 points are written in their certificate instead of the graduation exam grades," the information stated.
It should be noted that 4 people were expelled from the graduation exam held on April 5 for the general (9-year) secondary education level, and 3 people were expelled from the graduation exam held on April 12 due to the discovery of mobile phones. The next graduation exam will be held on April 26.
Also, 12 people were expelled from the graduation exam for the full (11-year) secondary education level held on March 9 for violating exam rules.
