During summer days, parents should be careful to protect children from the risk of sunstroke.
AzEdu.az reports that this was stated by Zakir Guliyev, a specialist-expert and therapist at the Ministry of Health.
According to him, the bodies of pregnant women, elderly people, and children have more difficulty adapting to temperature changes:
"In summer, it is dangerous for children to be exposed to direct sunlight from 11:00 to 17:00. Therefore, early morning or late afternoon hours should be chosen for playing outdoors. Children should be dressed in light, light-colored, and breathable clothes, wear hats, and care should be taken to keep their bodies covered as much as possible. The use of sun protection creams for the skin is also mandatory".
The specialist also noted that some people with chronic diseases should also be careful in hot weather^
"In individuals with cardiovascular system diseases, high temperatures can lead to the dilation of blood vessels and a drop in blood pressure. This, in turn, can lead to an increase in heart rate, an increased workload on the heart, and a higher risk of heart attack”.
