Love for animals sometimes plays a decisive role in choosing a future profession. In recent years, among young people interested in vocational education, there are also girls who choose various specialties. Girls studying “Veterinary technician” at Kurdamir Vocational Lyceum also attract attention with their interest in this field.
During their education, they learn to care for animals, acquire theoretical knowledge related to veterinary medicine, and gain practical experience.
As AzEdu.az, we learned their impressions and talked about their future plans and dreams.
Maleyka Azizadeh expressed her love for her specialty:
“I love animals. I have a good relationship with them and this field is interesting to me. Our lessons are also interesting. We learn a lot about veterinary medicine. For example, once during a lesson, we brought a cat and it underwent surgery. This process was very interesting for me. Some students had headaches, felt nauseous, and left the room. But I was not afraid. I also participated in the process, trying to hold the cat and help with other tasks.
Many people told me that this specialty was good and advised me to study here. Their opinions also positively influenced my choice. Today, I still think that veterinary medicine is a very good specialty. Compared to other specialties, this field is more interesting to me.
We have had interesting moments in lessons, in class, and at various events. I have also participated in events organized at school. I never thought that surgery could be performed on a cat during a lesson. I thought we would only have theoretical lessons and start practical sessions in the third year. But already in the second year, we encountered such experiences. What we learned about animals was unexpected for me.
I have a positive view of girls choosing this profession. Previously, I didn't have much information about veterinary medicine, and I didn't even know the specialists working in this field closely. The fact that there were only three girls among the boys in our group initially seemed a bit different to me. But as I studied, I realized that this field is really interesting and it is possible to learn a lot here.
In the future, I want to open my own veterinary clinic and become an animal doctor. For now, I am continuing my education. In the third year, I plan to develop myself in this field by gaining more knowledge and experience. I want to be able to treat animals in the future.”
Gulaya Niftaliyeva noted that she has always had a great interest in animals:
“I love animals very much. That's why I chose the veterinary specialty. My family also supported me on this path. When I told them I wanted to work in the veterinary field in the future, they were very happy with my choice. I think this is a very good specialty. It is very interesting to love animals, to learn to work with them and to care for them. I love my specialty very much and I think that girls can also succeed in this field.
During my education, I learned many things I didn't know before. Especially lessons related to surgery are interesting for me. I enjoy acquiring new knowledge in this field. During our education, we work with animals and participate in practical sessions. Recently, we participated in a cat's surgery. We helped with the process together with our teacher and classmates. When I first saw an animal's surgery, I felt a little bad at first. Then I thought that this is the specialty I chose and I should learn all this. Therefore, I continued to participate in the process.
If I can save an animal's life in the future, I will be very happy and feel fulfilled. Helping animals and contributing to their recovery would be a wonderful feeling for me. I think there is a need for this specialty. In the future, I want to apply what I have learned, care for animals, and work in this field. I aim to become a professional specialist by gaining more experience. If it is destined, I would very much like to open my own veterinary clinic. This is one of my biggest dreams.”
