Scored 94 points, not satisfied with the result: AIMS for 100 points in master's degree

The State Examination Center today held admission exams for master's programs of higher education institutions.

It should be recalled that Jamila Yusifova became the first in the republic by scoring 93.5 points in the test stage in her second attempt at the master's admission exam.

She stated in her interview with AzEdu.az that her main goal in participating in the third exam was to reach the 100-point target she had set for herself a long time ago:

“As you mentioned, I scored quite high in previous exams. In the second exam, I became the first in the republic by scoring 93.5 points without an essay. However, my main goal since I started this journey has been to score 100 points. When I learned that the third attempt exams would be held, I thought this was an opportunity for me and I participated in the exam.

The exam went very well for me. The logic questions were relatively easier compared to the previous ones. In informatics, there were more confusing questions. I had further strengthened my knowledge during the one-month period between the exams, and the exam seemed quite easy to me.

When I left the exam, my expectation was 100 points. According to the answer template provided by the State Examination Center, I scored 94 out of a possible 95 points in the test section. The one lost point is related to a logic question that I consider controversial. The question has several correct solutions, and it is possible to get different answers with different approaches. Thousands of students faced the same problem. In such cases, the question is usually accepted as starred. Together with teachers and students, we have appealed to the State Examination Center regarding this and are currently awaiting a response.”

Jamila also stated that she expects maximum results from the essay section:

“My expectation from the essay is still 5 points. If the appeals yield positive results, my final score will be 100 points. I believe that the State Examination Center, as always, will make a fair decision for the students this time as well.

I continuously worked on tests and focused mainly on increasing my solution speed. My goal was to gain time to review the questions at the end of the exam. The support of my teachers was very important for me in this process.

In the future, I aim to continue my education in my specialty and pursue a master's degree abroad. This 9-month preparation process taught me time management, and how to approach events more carefully and patiently. My knowledge of informatics or logic may decrease in the future, but these skills will always stay with me.”

Jamila Yusifova believes that the main secret of success is not talent, but hard work and discipline:

“Talent and luck are only 10 percent of success. The remaining 90 percent is about how much we want to achieve that success and how much effort we put into it,” she emphasized.
