The second attempt exam for admission to master's programs will be held on May 17. One of the most interesting issues among bachelors is how the passing scores for specialties will change. A total of 23078 bachelors have registered to participate in the second attempt of the master's admission exam.
This year, in which master's specialties are passing scores expected to increase, and in which are they expected to decrease?
Education expert Elchin Afandi (Afandiyev), commenting on the topic to AzEdu.az, stated that this year's master's admission competition will be both intense and competitive:
"The State Examination Center will hold the second attempt exam for master's degrees on May 17, and more than 23 thousand bachelors are expected to participate. This indicator is considered the highest figure recorded in recent years. Compared to last year, approximately 3000 more bachelors are observed to participate in the competition. In general, a significant increase in the number of applicants for master's degrees for both the first and second attempts has been recorded compared to previous years. This indicates that this year's master's admission competition will be more intense and highly competitive."
The main competition is expected to form in the 45-70 point range, which may lead to an increase in passing scores, especially for MBA programs:
"In terms of results, some of the bachelors who participated in the first attempt also participate in the second attempt, and they have approximately a 3-month preparation period. During this period, participants try to eliminate the mistakes they made in the previous exam. I think this factor can lead to a slight improvement in the results of the second attempt. At the same time, this change will not be without effect on the passing scores formed for general specialties.
My general expectation is that the main density will be in the 45-70 point range. More precisely, a large part of the bachelor contingent taking the exam will be concentrated in this score interval. This may lead to changes in the passing scores of specialties formed in previous years in that score range, in the direction of an increase.
Especially in MBA program specialties and some other programs, a certain increase in scores may be observed compared to previous years. Bachelors who score above 70 points are more fortunate. Because their real admission chance will be higher compared to other bachelors.
When choosing, bachelors should, of course, consider specialties that are in high demand in the labor market. If their goal is to continue their specialty and engage in scientific research activities, they must pay attention to which university provides higher quality education in that field. If these factors are correctly evaluated, it can significantly contribute to them achieving more successful results."
