Master's second-place winner:
The State Examination Center has announced the results of the admission exam for master's programs of higher education institutions held on May 17, 2026, for closed and codable open-ended tasks (95 tasks).

Ismayil Aliyev is one of those who showed high results in the exam.

He scored 91.5 points in the test stage of the exam. Ismayil is currently a 4th-year student at Baku Engineering University.

AzEdu.az contacted Ismayil to learn about his impressions.

He noted that he aimed to achieve a high result:

"I was admitted to the Information Security specialty at Baku Engineering University with 562 points and am currently a 4th-year student. In the first attempt of the master's exam, I scored 90 points, including the essay. In my second attempt, I have achieved a result of 91.5 points without the essay so far.

When I first heard the result, I was very happy. Because it was very proud for me to get the reward for my efforts and to meet the expectations of my teachers. I had set a goal to achieve a high result in this exam since October. After my result in the first exam, I analyzed my weak points and tried to eliminate those shortcomings in the second attempt.

The most difficult part was working, continuing university classes, and preparing for the exam in parallel. In this process, I understood better how important discipline is. Thanks to proper planning, I managed to cope with each of them.

One of the biggest factors in my success was having people around me who believed in me. My family, friends, and teachers always supported me and believed that I would succeed. This gave me extra motivation.

Honestly, there was no specific topic that I found particularly difficult. It was just moments of inattention that caused me certain problems.

Of course, individual study is also very important. The course showed me what I needed to do, and I worked in that direction.

I was able to balance my social life with the preparation process thanks to being disciplined. Knowing that a difficult period was ahead, I had made a plan for myself and allocated my time correctly in advance."

I did not feel any excitement in either the first or second attempt:

"I think the main problem for many students is their inability to control their excitement. I did not see this exam as the end of my life. I thought that no matter what the result, this was just a new beginning. This approach helped me stay calm during the exam.

Since I am studying Information Security, I want to continue in this field in the future. I haven't made a final decision yet, but I am considering studying in a direction related to my specialty.

My goal is to contribute to Azerbaijan's information security field. After working in government agencies for a certain period, I want to establish my own cybersecurity company and provide security services to various enterprises.

I am also considering studying abroad in the future. Because cybersecurity is a global field, and learning international experience can be beneficial for both me and my country.

My biggest advice to students preparing for the exam is not to get excited. This exam is not the end of anything. On the contrary, every result is a new beginning. One of the most common mistakes students make is spending too much time on one question. As they fail to solve that question, they experience more stress and cannot focus on other questions. However, skipping one question does not mean losing other questions.

Currently, the result I have achieved satisfies me. But I will make my final decision after consulting with people whose recommendations I trust."
