The second attempt at admission to the master's degree will be more competitive

The fact that 22,777 people registered for the 1st attempt and 23,078 people for the 2nd attempt of the master's admission exam in 2026 shows a certain growth dynamic.

It is interesting, considering these differences and the opinions expressed about the difficulty of the first attempt exam, could the second attempt exam be easier?

Education expert Elchin Afandi, who gave a statement to AzEdu.az on the topic, noted that bachelors directly preparing for the second attempt and confirming their documents, in addition to increasing the total number of participants, further intensifies the competition situation:

"Let me inform you that an increase in the number of participants was recorded in the second attempt compared to the first attempt. This fact has also been observed in previous years, and considering that in previous years there were more than 26 thousand participants in total.

I should note that one of the reasons for this increase is the hundreds of bachelors who did not participate in the first attempt; these individuals had directly prepared for the second attempt. Since they are now confirming their documents, an increase in the total number of participants has been recorded. This situation, of course, further intensifies the overall competition and makes the competitive situation more difficult".

There is more than a month until the exam day, and during this period, bachelors can make the exam questions more accessible for themselves by preparing more seriously:

"As for the possibility of the exam being easier, I think that there was enough time for bachelors who participated in the first attempt. Now, there is more than a month until the exam day, that is, until May 17, and during this period, bachelors can make the exam questions more accessible for themselves by preparing more seriously.

This gives reason to say that for bachelors who prepare seriously, the exam questions of the second attempt may be more accessible compared to the first attempt. This, in general, as I said, indicates that there will be intense competition against the background of a large number of participants".
