Shy children fall behind in education: MISTAKES made by teachers and parents

In some classes, there are children who avoid social interaction, are shy, and have difficulty expressing themselves. Even if these children are academically literate, they cannot demonstrate their knowledge because they do not actively participate.

It is interesting to know how limited social interaction and shyness affect students' overall success and self-confidence at school?

Psychologist Gulnar Orujova spoke to AzEdu.az about the topic.

The psychologist noted that a child's silence at school is often an indicator of a wrong upbringing model at home:

“There are different family types: authoritarian family model, liberal family model, overprotective family model, and supportive family model. These family models lead to the upbringing of children with different characteristics.

Family models also affect children's learning style and approach to lessons. Therefore, differences are observed among children: some children can present themselves, while others cannot; some children can demonstrate what they have learned, while others cannot, no matter how much they learn.

Children raised in the authoritarian family model, that is, where one person in the family is an authority and the child constantly obeys their commands, are most common. They tend to be more perfectionistic and self-critical. They can also be a bit aggressive, avoid other people, lack social skills, and sometimes be more competitive and
