Studying abroad is a dream for many young people. Studying at prestigious universities around the world, gaining international experience, and getting to know the academic environment of different countries are among the main goals of Azerbaijani students.
We have listed the countries most and least chosen by our young people who want to study abroad.
AzEdu.az analyzed the countries chosen by 1752 people who gained the right to study within the framework of the “State Program for 2022-2028”.
According to the results of the analysis, the country most preferred by Azerbaijani students was Great Britain.
Great Britain ranked first in terms of country choice for students going to study abroad within the framework of the state program. A total of 1008 Azerbaijani students gained the right to study in this country. The United States of America ranked second with 254 students, and Turkey ranked third with 177 students.
Further down the list, Germany ranked with 69 students, Italy with 48 students, China with 34 students, Australia with 29 students, Belgium with 22 students, and the Netherlands with 20 students.
Among the countries chosen by fewer students, Canada ranked with 17, Singapore with 16, Switzerland with 15, Sweden with 9, South Korea with 6, Ireland and Estonia with 5, Israel and France with 4, Spain and Finland with 3, Denmark with 2, and Norway and Russia with 1 Azerbaijani student.
Thus, within the framework of the state program, the most chosen destinations for Azerbaijani students were European countries and the USA. Norway, Russia, and Denmark were among the least chosen countries.
