This article provides information on the educational background and academic activities of Indira Hajiyeva and Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Ministers to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov.
Indira Niyazi qizi Hajiyeva was born on July 15, 1960.
She graduated from school with a gold medal in 1977. In 1982, she graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University, and in 1988, she completed a higher management course at the Moscow Higher Komsomol School.
From 1982-1984, she worked as an engineer at the Institute of Space Research of Natural Resources of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR; from 1984-1986, as Deputy Secretary of the Komsomol Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR; from 1986-1988, as instructor, secretary, and First Secretary at the Komsomol Committee of the 26 Baku Commissars district; from 1988-1989, as instructor at the Central Committee of the All-Union Komsomol (Moscow); and from 1989-1991, as Secretary of the Central Committee of the Azerbaijan Komsomol.
In subsequent years, Indira Hajiyeva worked as an engineer at Baku State University (1992-1993), a specialist in analytical analysis at the "SIAR-BAKI JV" sociological research enterprise (1993-1995 and 1998-1999), Chief Specialist at the Baku City Executive Power (1999-2000), and Head of the Department for Work with Public Organizations and Political Parties (2000-2001).
Subsequently, she worked as Chief Instructor, Sector Manager in the Department for Work with Children and Youth at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2001-2006), Chief Advisor in the Department for Work with Regional Management and Local Self-Government Bodies of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2006-2007), and Chief Advisor, Sector Manager, Department Head in the Department for Work with Youth at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2008-2021).
On 08.02.2011, she was awarded the "For Distinction in Public Service" medal; on 15.12.2015, the Jubilee Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the 10th Anniversary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2005-2015); and on 22.06.2016, the 3rd degree "For Service to the Fatherland" order.
By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 29, 2021, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Farhad Majid oglu Hajiyev was born in Sumgayit city in 1980.
He entered Azerbaijan University in 1995 and graduated from the bachelor's degree program in International Relations at the same university with an honors diploma in 1999. From 1999 to 2001, he pursued a master's degree in International Relations at Azerbaijan University, also graduating with an honors diploma.
In 2005, he entered Azerbaijan State University of Economics and graduated from the master's degree program in Finance within the "Economics and Management" specialization at the same university with an honors diploma in 2007. In 2008, he completed a course for high-ranking officials working in government at Harvard University. In 2013, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
From 2000-2001, he worked as Department Head, Council Chairman, and Secretary General of the National Council of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2001, he worked as Section Head at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and from 2002-2011, as Section Head. From 2011-2018, he served as Executive Director of the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2018, by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
By Orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the "For Distinction in Public Service" medal in 2011, the "Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan" in 2015, and the 3rd degree "For Service to the Fatherland" order on July 24, 2019.
