Maximum result expected - from which group will 700 points come?

The exam results for II and III specialty groups have been announced. While the highest result in the II specialty group was 397 points, and 3 people scored 400 points in the III specialty group, a 700-point result has not yet been recorded.

It is interesting to know if 700 points can come from the I or IV specialty group? Considering that applicants from groups I and IV emphasized that the exam was more difficult.

In this regard, it is interesting whether a 700-point result will come from these groups.

Education expert Vusat Azizov, who gave a statement to AzEdu.az on the topic, stated that this situation is directly related to the overall lower number of people scoring 300 points compared to last year:

"The results of the block exam for II and III specialty groups, held by the State Examination Center on March 24, have already been announced. Unfortunately, although 3 people in the III specialty group managed to score the maximum 400 points, they could not get a full 300 points in the graduation exam, so a 700-point result has not yet been recorded in this year's exam.

I think this situation is directly related to the overall lower number of people scoring 300 points compared to last year. If we look at the numbers, in 2026, only 13 people scored 300 points in the graduation exam. For comparison, in 2025, this figure was 45 people, and among those 45 people, 2 managed to score a full 700 points. This year, the number of people scoring 300 points is 13. But I hope that we will have applicants who score 700 points in the upcoming exams for I and IV specialty groups."

I predict that a 700-point result will come from among the IV group applicants:

"Last year, 2 people also scored maximum points in the IV specialty group. Therefore, I predict that this year, a 700-point result will come from among the IV group applicants. In any case, the somewhat unsatisfactory results in the graduation exam also had a negative impact on the overall indicators of the block exam in a chain reaction.

As is known, since 2019, our country has switched to a new examination model that includes graduation and block exams. After the implementation of this new model, a sharp decrease in the number of applicants scoring a maximum of 700 points began to be observed.

If we look at the statistical indicators of the period from 2019, when the new model was implemented, to 2025, we will clearly see that the number of those who showed this high result in recent years is quite limited. Thus, during the mentioned years (between 2019-2025), only 7 people across the republic managed to score a full 700 points, showing the maximum result. These statistical figures once again prove that the new examination mechanism requires deeper preparation and a different approach from applicants."

Since the implementation of the new examination model, only 7 people have been able to achieve the maximum result:

"In Azerbaijan, admission exams to higher education institutions began to be conducted by test method since 1992. During the period from that date, i.e., from 1992 to 2025, a total of 118 applicants managed to score a full 700 points, showing the maximum result in the exams.

An interesting and noteworthy point is that 7 of the total 118 700-point results recorded during these years fall into the recent period from 2019 to 2025. This means that since the implementation of the new examination model, only 7 people have been able to conquer the highest peak."
