President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of the International Training Center at the National Aviation Academy on April 8.
AzEdu.az reports that the rector of the National Aviation Academy, academician Arif Pashayev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC Samir Rzayev informed the head of state and the First Lady about the center's activities.
It was stated that the International Training Center was established on the initiative of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC on the territory of the National Aviation Academy. The center is designed for the training of flight crews for emergencies, as well as for the theoretical and practical training of air traffic control dispatchers.
In the new complex, dispatchers of the Air Traffic Control Department of Azeraeronavigation will be trained in accordance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). For this purpose, the Aeronavigation Training Center will operate based on the educational program of the German Aeronavigation Academy (DFS), one of the world's leading aeronavigation training centers in this field.
A TWR tower simulator reflecting a 360-degree panorama of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, as well as a radar simulator complex for airspace management, have been installed here. These systems provide opportunities for training dispatchers in real operational conditions.
The center also features a modern training simulator complex that allows drivers of various special vehicles to improve their skills in conditions corresponding to real work at airports.
The International Training Center plans to train approximately 30 air traffic control dispatchers and 3,000 flight crew members annually.
In addition, the Center has been equipped with a new generation aircraft simulator of the type "A320/A321 NEO CEET" by "SkyArt," a Turkish company specialized in this field and internationally recognized, for the effective implementation of safety measures inside the aircraft cabin in emergencies and various accident situations. The simulator includes Door Trainers for the "Boeing 787" aircraft, as well as new generation Fire Fighting Training Facilities (RFFT) that simulate real fire conditions.
The new training infrastructure will make a significant contribution to strengthening personnel training in the aviation sector in the region, as well as educational opportunities in line with international standards, and to the formation of a competitive national personnel potential in this field.
As a specialized educational structure that carries out personnel training in accordance with the demands of the modern aviation sector, the Center will play an important role in shaping the practical skills of aviation specialists, in addition to their theoretical knowledge.
The equipping of the Center with modern technologies and the installation of the latest flight simulators here allow for gaining experience in an environment close to real flight conditions, which is of exceptional importance in ensuring the overall safety of flights.
