Legislative changes have made a difference in family stereotypes

Changes made in Azerbaijani legislation have created a difference in family stereotypes.

AzEdu.az reports that Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, stated this at a press conference titled "Family, Women and Children Issues in Azerbaijani Legislation".

According to her, serious attention has been paid to the legislative framework for strengthening the institution of family in the last five years:

"The State Committee has put forward a number of proposals in this direction. During 2020–2025, 7 legislative amendments, 11 rules and regulations, 33 opinions and proposals, and 3 state programs were adopted as part of the legal documents. Although these documents did not make significant changes to family stereotypes, they did make a difference. At the same time, they helped protect the rights of those suffering from family and domestic issues".

B. Muradova also stated that the "Action Plan for 2020–2025 for the Implementation of the Strategy on Children" will conclude this year:

"Work will be carried out on another action plan next year".
