A lost species of dinosaurs was discovered in Europe

Paleontologists have found the remains of ceratopsian dinosaurs, which had not been recorded in Europe for many years, in Hungary.

AzEdu.az reports, citing foreign media, that these horned herbivorous dinosaurs lived in Europe approximately 84 million years ago, but the fossils had previously been attributed to other species due to classification errors.

The new discovery confirms that Europe's Cretaceous period fauna was more diverse and complex.

Scientists note that this discovery not only proves the existence of ceratopsians in Europe but will also lead to a re-analysis of other fossil remains.

The results have been published in the journal “Nature” and have opened the way for extensive discussions in the scientific community.
