“Nestle” is recalling certain batches of SMA, BEBA, and NAN branded infant formulas in Europe due to the potential presence of a toxin that could cause nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
AzEdu.az reports that this process, ongoing since December, has become a serious problem for the company's new CEO, Philipp Navratil.
The company stated that no cases of illness related to the recalled products have been recorded to date.
“Nestle” has warned about the possible presence of cereulide toxin, produced by certain strains of “Bacillus cereus” bacteria, in specific batches of products sold in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
The Austrian Ministry of Health announced that the recall affects over 800 products manufactured in more than 10 factories, making it the largest recall in the company's history.
