During the development stages of the Azerbaijani higher education system, a number of rectors who led higher education institutions were awarded the “Sharaf” Order in various years.
This fact is valued not only as an indicator of individual achievements, but also as an indicator of the approaches and priorities implemented in university management during those periods.

The Rector of the National Aviation Academy, Arif Paşayev, is among those awarded the “Sharaf” Order on February 12, 2009.
The Rector of ADA University, Hafiz Paşayev, was awarded the “Sharaf” Order on May 2, 2016, by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, for his services in the development of education in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Siyavuş Kərimi, who served as Rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory (2001-2024), was awarded the “Sharaf” Order on December 31, 2020, for his services in the development of national music education in Azerbaijan.
The Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, Kamal Abdulla, was awarded the “Sharaf” Order on December 30, 2020, by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, for his great services in the development of science and education in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Rector of Azerbaijan Cooperation University, Eldar Quliyev, was awarded the “Sharaf” Order on July 26, 2021, for his long-term fruitful activity in the socio-political life of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Rector of Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Fərhad Bədəlbəyli, was awarded the “Sharaf” Order on December 26, 2022.
The Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Urxan Ələkbərov, was awarded the “Sharaf” Order by Order dated April 27, 2023.
The Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Professor Gülçöhrə Məmmədova, was also awarded the “Sharaf” Order on December 18, 2025.
