It is interesting, what positive and negative aspects can the application of electronic certificates have?
Günay Əkbərova, a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education, told AzEdu.az that the application of electronic certificates creates many practical advantages for both students and parents:
“I generally evaluate this innovation positively. One of the most important points is accessibility and convenience. Problems such as physical storage, loss or re-restoration of documents are now minimized. The student gets more operative access to his results, and the parent can monitor his child's academic performance at any time.
At the same time, this approach makes the documentation process faster and more flexible. Especially when applying to higher education institutions or in various official procedures, the submission of electronic certificates reduces time loss and simplifies the process. In international practice, the application of digital education documents has been successfully used for a long time and is considered one of the main factors increasing citizen satisfaction.
One of the important advantages of electronic certificates is the strengthening of transparency. The collection and storage of information in a single system reduces some risks arising from the human factor, and gives more reliability to the evaluation and documentation process. This is an important factor that increases the trust of both parents and society in the education system”.
Our interlocutor noted that some difficulties should also be taken into account:
“The ability to use digital platforms is not at the same level for everyone, and this can create difficulties, especially for some parents, in the initial stage. Also, technical problems, difficulties in accessing the system or malfunctions may be observed in the initial periods of the application. In this regard, it is important to simultaneously educate users and strengthen technical support mechanisms.
In general, the application of electronic certificates is one of the important steps taken in the direction of digitalization in the education system. If applied correctly and gradually, this innovation will both increase the efficiency of management and contribute to the formation of a more transparent and modern educational environment”.
