The 31st Graduation Day, dedicated to the graduates of Azerbaijan University for the 2024/2025 academic year, has been held. The event, organized at “Badamdar Hotel and Residences”, was attended by the university administration, faculty members, and graduates.

The event began with the playing of the National Anthem. The memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the territorial integrity, independence, and constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence. The Rector of the University, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Saadat Aliyeva, delivered an opening speech. The Rector noted that the world is changing rapidly, and modern challenges and demands are also transforming the education system. Azerbaijan University, which adequately responds to modern challenges in education, not only provides education and transmits scientific knowledge to its students but also instills in them self-confidence, critical thinking, integrity, and innovativeness, teaching them to be open to diversity and novelty, and to distinguish between right and wrong: “I express my deep gratitude to the academic staff of Azerbaijan University.
Over these years, they have instilled many great positive qualities in you. I sincerely congratulate all graduates. I am confident that the knowledge you have gained here will help you secure a worthy place in life. As graduates of Azerbaijan University, I want each of you to always elevate our homeland, our victorious Azerbaijan, our proud Azerbaijan, both within the country and abroad”, the Rector stated. In her speech, Saadat Aliyeva advised the graduates to constantly work on themselves, to set new goals after achieving their current ones, and wished them success in this new stage of their lives.
Subsequently, Safar Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies; Goshgar Garayev and Nahid Almasov, Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Business and Economics; teachers Huseyn Huseynli, Sadaqat Hasanova, Gulana Isayeva; and Ahmed Anwar Hussein Al-Ashwal, a citizen of the Republic of Yemen and one of the university's international graduates, delivered speeches, conveying their congratulations and best wishes. It was confidently expressed in the speeches that the knowledge and skills acquired during their student years, and the values they embraced, will make significant contributions to the graduates on their new, independent, and responsible life path.
Following the congratulatory speeches, honorary diplomas from Saadat Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan University, were presented to graduates who ranked first, second, and third in their faculties, to the top students of the master's and MBA programs, to the university's top student, and also to graduates distinguished by their social activity in university life. Marina Nasibova, the top student of the Faculty of Business and Economics, graduated from Azerbaijan University with first place, achieving an overall average success rate of 97.7. Marina Nasibova, who inscribed her name in the university's history, spoke on behalf of the 2024/2025 academic year graduates, sharing her unforgettable memories of past years and expressing gratitude to the university administration, her teachers, and her family who always supported her.
Following the traditional “Cap Tossing Ceremony”, Eliana Panahova, soloist of the “Alov” dance group, performed the “Sarı Gəlin” dance. Ilkin Fuad, soloist of Azerbaijan State Television, laureate of international competitions, and singer, performed a concert program.
