A change is proposed in the aptitude test for those admitted to the Sports Academy.
AzEdu.az reports that this was stated by Ogtay Atayev, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, during a meeting of the Youth and Sports Committee of the Milli Majlis with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, and sports federations.
The Secretary General stated that an aptitude test is administered during admission to the Sports Academy to check certain standards.
He stated that, in addition, incentives should be provided for the development of sports:
“Today, the maximum score for admission to universities in Azerbaijan is 700. This score is accumulated from exams given in 5-6 subjects. If 10 points are deducted from each subject and calculated for sports aptitude, then every applicant wishing to be admitted to the Sports Academy will strive to accumulate the points they could not gather from other subjects.”
“Transparency will also be ensured here, and there will be no subjective issues,” – he noted in conclusion.
