The spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year has started in Azerbaijan's higher education institutions.
It is interesting to know which institutions final year students are sent to for industrial internships.
Regarding the topic, AzEdu.az Education Portal sent inquiries to universities and academies.
In response to our inquiry, Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) stated that in the spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, industrial internships for fourth-year students at UNEC are organized in stages, depending on the credit load, in accordance with the curriculum and academic calendar.
“Thus, the 21-credit industrial internship covers the dates 16.02.2026 - 22.05.2026, and the 30-credit industrial internship covers the dates 16.02.2026–04.07.2026. The industrial internship, which is included in the Economics and Management specialization group and is planned for 6 credits, is scheduled for the dates 04.05.2026–29.05.2026.
As of yesterday, a total of 1,255 students have been involved in internship programs. Of these, 585 students for 21-credit industrial internships and 320 students for 30-credit industrial internships at the bachelor's level in full-time education, and 18 students for 21-credit and 18 students for 30-credit internships in part-time education have started. At the master's level, a total of 314 master's students studying various specializations have been involved in scientific-pedagogical and scientific-research internships.
Students' industrial internships are organized within the university's extensive partner network and cover the following institutional cooperation areas:
State bodies and ministries: Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Tax Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Chambers and professional bodies: Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Appraisers Society, Chamber of Appraisers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

This stage is of particular importance for preparing master's students for academic activity and developing their pedagogical and research skills.

Elnur Hadiyev from the Public Relations and Marketing Department of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) noted that SOCAR and its subordinate entities, as well as the country's leading industrial and service enterprises, offer industrial internship opportunities for students of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU):
“Industrial internships at the university are organized at different times depending on the specialization. For 2026, the internship periods cover the following dates:
From February 16 to May 24
From February 16 to July 5
From April 13 to May 24
From May 4 to May 31
From June 8 to July 5
According to current statistics, the university collaborates with nearly 500 large and small companies. Students acquire practical knowledge and skills in leading enterprises operating in oil and gas, chemistry, energy, metallurgy, logistics, transport, information and communication technologies, and other fields.
Among the main institutions where industrial internships are conducted are Balakhani Oil, Surakhani Oil, Coca-Cola, AQTA, the Ministry of Defense Industry and its subordinate entities, AzerGold, UBOC, SOCAR Upstream, SOCAR Polymer, SOCAR Downstream and its structural divisions. In addition, enterprises such as Baku Steel Company, AIMC, AZCON Holding, Baku Metro, Azerbaijan Railways, Azercell, Azerconnect, Azertexnolayn, NORM, RAM Holding, Kapital Bank, CBM Engineering, Developia, and Absheron Logistics, operating in the industrial and infrastructure sectors, are also among the internship bases.

According to information from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), industrial internships for 4th-year students started on February 16, 2026:
“Students' industrial internships will be organized at these institutions: enterprises subordinate to SOCAR, Baku Metro, "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC, State Agency for Use of Mineral Raw Material Resources, Baku Steel Company, Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Aztelekom” LLC, State Radio Frequencies Department under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Khazar TV, Azad Azerbaijan TV, Azerkosmos, Delta-Telecom, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “BakuBus” LLC, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency “Azerpost” LLC, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerishig OJSC, ASAN service, "ASAN service" centers, Rabitabank, Kapital Bank, Unibank, Yelo Bank, "Sanayecihaz" Scientific-Production Enterprise (SPE) under the Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Iqlim Scientific-Production Enterprise under the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and students will undergo internships at the “Alov” plant.”
The Academy of the State Customs Committee (ASCC) stated that students' industrial internships started on February 16:
The internship for economics and international logistics specializations will start in May and will last approximately 5–6 weeks".
According to information from Azerbaijan University (AU), industrial internships for final year bachelor's students have started at Azerbaijan University:
"A total of 479 students have been involved in industrial internships in various state bodies, private companies, and non-governmental organizations. The industrial internship, which started on February 16, 2026, will continue until May 22, 2026, for specializations in Tourism Business Organization; Museum, Archival Work and Protection of Monuments, and until June 19, 2026, for other specializations.
359 students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, 47 from the Faculty of Business and Economics, and 73 from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies are participating in the industrial internship. Internship locations include state and local government bodies; translation and language centers; cultural, scientific, and educational institutions; rehabilitation and psychological service centers, and tourism service providers. Students will undergo industrial internships in state and private enterprises such as ASAN service, SOCAR, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice, “Bakcell”, “Ulduz” magazine of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, “Shams” Translation Center, “Eurasia” Translation Center, “Oykos” Development Center, Sabail Municipality of Baku city, Azerbaijan Independence Museum, Institute of Archeology and Anthropology of ANAS, ”Oxbridge Academy”, “Planet Travel”, Nasimi district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, “Kripton Business Solutions”, “Optima Business Solutions”, Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Institute of Mathematics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Center for International Relations and Diplomacy Studies.
Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management (AUTM) noted that fourth-year bachelor's students studying Social Work, Food Engineering, International Relations, Tourism Guiding, Museum, Archival Work and Protection of Monuments, and Translation specializations have started their industrial internships in the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year:
“In accordance with the curriculum of the relevant specializations, students will participate in a 14-week industrial internship. The spring semester is designated as an internship semester for these specializations.
Students have been directed to institutions and organizations such as the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, ASAN service centers, Icherisheher State Reserve, Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Veysaloglu LLC, Aurora Industrial Park, Milla LLC, Scientific-Research Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking, Ateshgah Temple, Azerbaijan Tourism Guides Association, Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, National NGO Forum, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, more than 12 museums operating under the Ministry of Culture, and the National Archival Department of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with their specializations. During the industrial internship, students will reinforce their acquired theoretical knowledge with practical activities, develop their professional skills, and gain experience in a real work environment.
The industrial internship for students studying Tourism Business Organization, Management, Marketing, Finance, State and Municipal Administration specializations is planned to start from May–June.”
According to information from Khazar University, the 2nd semester of the 2025-2026 academic year started yesterday in all higher education institutions:
“Internships for engineering specializations at Khazar University will mainly be carried out in June. Internships for teaching specializations will start at the end of February or beginning of March. Internships for teaching specializations at Khazar University are mainly conducted at “Dunya” school. They are mainly conducted at “Dunya” school and “Evrika” lyceum.”
Baku State University (BSU) stated that, as of February 16 of the 2025/2026 academic year, final year students are being sent to many institutions and organizations listed below for industrial internships:

ADA University stated that, officially, 3rd-year students are sent for industrial internships during the spring and summer semesters:
"Thus, the industrial internship must be a minimum of 4 weeks, 120 hours. Information about students is sent to state and private enterprises and companies according to their specializations. After this, they begin to work."
Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) noted that, a relevant decision has been made regarding the organization of pedagogical and industrial internships for final year students for the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year:
"According to the decision, the internship period covers the dates February 16–May 30. In accordance with the established schedule, students will participate in a 10-week teaching (pedagogical) internship between February 16 and April 24, and a 5-week industrial internship between April 24 and May 30.
In the current academic year, students will carry out pedagogical and industrial activities in over 250 institutions located in Baku city and various regions of the republic. Internship bases include 9 educational institutions operating under the Ministry of Science and Education, 111 general education institutions under the Baku City Education Department, as well as private educational institutions such as “Hədəf”, “ABC”, “Kaspi”, “Evrika”, “XXI əsr”, “BSU”, “ERA” lyceums, and “Gənclik” kindergarten.
In addition, 61 students studying Social Work specialization will be involved in practical activities at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and ASAN service centers."
