The winter examination session has already begun in higher education institutions. Each university's examination system is primarily shaped according to its internal rules and policies. Nevertheless, it can be said that certain similarities exist among the examination systems of universities.
Among Azerbaijani higher education institutions, Lankaran State University has introduced an innovation in its examination system.
AzEdu.az reports that students at the university are completely independent in choosing their examination and colloquium times:
Students can choose and change their examination and colloquium times electronically at any time until the examination day by logging into their personal accounts. Students who are unable to participate in an examination or colloquium for any reason can later change their examination and colloquium times electronically, or a student who arrives for a chosen examination and receives the examination questions may change their mind and choose an examination for a different subject.
In accordance with their wishes, students can schedule their examinations (colloquia) at the beginning of the period allocated for examinations, at the end of that period, or maintain an interval between examinations for different subjects to prepare better for them. This grants students complete freedom in determining their educational trajectory and knowledge-skill competencies.
This system, which has been implemented at Lankaran State University for 4 years, is a first among Azerbaijani higher education institutions.
