The AzEdu.az Education Portal contacted "Brand Students" who study at various higher education institutions and are distinguished by their activity and achievements, to learn what Youth Day means to them, what stages the path to success involves, and their messages to their peers.
Eldar Baxşəliyev, a fifth-year student of the II Faculty of Treatment and Prophylaxis at Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), a presidential scholarship holder, and also the student dean of the same faculty, a "Brand Student," stated that Youth Day is not just a date on the calendar:
"This day reminds me that the power to speak, to change things, and to do something is precisely in the hands of us, the youth. Every young person, in accordance with their position in society, must work on themselves and be inclined towards development.
The path to any success begins with the effort put into it. On that path, one should not shy away from difficulties, but rather seek solutions to overcome them. Working on myself, not treating any information as unnecessary, and always being open to learning have shaped me. I believe that the most important factor in reaching this stage has been the desire to possess broad and comprehensive knowledge. I fully understand how useful even a single sentence I read and learn now can be in critical situations as a doctor in the future.
Human health depends on that very sentence. A professional doctor requires strong analytical thinking, sound decision-making, and social communication skills. The education I receive today is of great importance for me to develop into a professional doctor who deeply understands their specialty. Therefore, I strive to organize my educational life at the highest possible level.
I want to tell my peers one thing: trust yourselves. Sometimes we compare ourselves to others, but this is the wrong path. Everyone's experience, pace, and life story are different. The main thing is to follow your own path and continue on it even if you make mistakes. Finally, I advise my peers to deeply master the scientific knowledge related to their chosen profession and specialty."
Solmaz İlyaszadə, a student of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Azerbaijan University (AU), Chairman of the Student Scientific Society, and a "Brand Student," noted that for her, Youth Day is a symbolic day reflecting the important role young people play in the development of society, their intellectual potential, and social responsibility:
"This day reminds us that the future of the state and society is shaped by the thoughts and actions of knowledgeable, active, and initiative-taking young people. Youth Day instills in me a greater sense of responsibility on my personal development path and provides strong motivation to guide the youth around me towards science, innovation, and social activism.
The main factor in reaching this stage has been my precise definition of goals and my continuous, systematic work on myself. I value success not as a coincidence, but as the result of planned activity and persistent effort. The difficulties I encountered were not obstacles for me; on the contrary, they were developmental stages that shaped my character and made me stronger. The support of my teachers and a healthy academic environment also played a significant role in this process."
For me, education is not only about acquiring academic knowledge but also about shaping one's way of thinking, worldview, and leadership qualities.
"The education I received provides me with an analytical approach, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking ability. My activity as chairman of the Student Scientific Society, in turn, creates opportunities for the practical application of this knowledge, gaining organizational experience, and unleashing the scientific potential of young people. This also creates a strong and sustainable foundation for my future career path.
My main message to my peers is to correctly assess their potential and constantly invest in their personal development. In the modern era, success is achieved not merely by desire, but through knowledge, responsibility, and continuous action. As young people, instead of remaining passive, we must take an active role in the development of society. Because the quality of the future directly depends on the level of thought and activity of today's youth. Finally, I want to say that success begins with believing in oneself."
According to Nəzrin Əhmədova, a student of chemical engineering at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) and a "Brand Student," Youth Day is a day that demonstrates the appreciation of young people's role and potential in society:
"The attention given to young people in our country, the opportunities created for their development, and the chance to test themselves in different fields are very important for us, the youth. It is precisely these opportunities, created for young people to discover their potential and find their path, that motivate me to work continuously. This day shows me that they believe in us, the youth, and see us as the future of the country. This sense of responsibility drives me to work harder and improve myself.
One of the most important factors in reaching this stage has been believing in myself and being persistent. Not everything has always gone as I wished, and there have been difficulties in every endeavor I started. But I have never wanted to stop halfway. Having a goal, my family's support, and continuous effort have helped me greatly. At the same time, I have not hesitated to take advantage of the opportunities created for young people in our country, and I have tried to maximize the chances that came my way. These nuances have played a role in me reaching the stage I am at today.
My education not only provides me with knowledge in the field of engineering but also develops my analytical thinking and teaches me to make sound decisions. The knowledge I gained at university, the projects I worked on, the international and local programs I joined, as well as the support of my teachers, help me to formulate my future plans more realistically and purposefully. Thanks to education, I better understand my field and aim to become a useful specialist for society in the future. In my opinion, the main foundation of success is, first and foremost, strong and quality education.
My main message to my peers is to first believe in yourselves and constantly work on yourselves. Seize the opportunities that come your way without hesitation and do not let them go. Taking education and studies seriously is also very important, as this forms the foundation of a successful future. Do not be afraid to make mistakes, because every mistake makes you stronger and teaches you. Most importantly, always step confidently towards your dreams. Happy Youth Day!"
