According to the official statement of GEW, operating in the German cities of Hamburg and Berlin, school principals are now “overworked”. Many school leaders are engaged not only during the teaching period, but also with tasks outside of school hours, such as filling vacant positions, administrative and organizational tasks, communication with parents, administrations, and so on.
AzEdu.az reports, citing foreign media, that this increasing workload and constant additional responsibilities can affect the effectiveness of school administration, and also lead to a decline in the quality of the education system.
Organization representatives call on the education authorities in both Hamburg and Berlin to take measures for reducing the workload of school principals, providing additional resources, and easing the working conditions of the management.
