After some recent events, public interest and sensitivity towards security issues in schools and higher education institutions have significantly increased.
These words were stated by Günay Əkbərova, an English language teacher and Secretary of the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education, to AzEdu.az.
She also noted that steps are being taken in the field of security and attention has increased:
"According to my observations, in many institutions, entry-exit control is conducted more rigorously, security regimes are strengthened, and efforts are made to establish camera operations and general control mechanisms more systematically. However, it should also be noted that this process does not proceed at the same pace everywhere, as the capabilities and infrastructure of schools and universities differ.
In global practice, security is not limited to guards and cameras alone. The most effective approach involves both strengthening physical security measures and protecting the psychological environment. This means having clear rules for risky situations, monitoring student behavior, strengthening psychological services, timely detection of bullying and aggression, and closer cooperation with parents are essential parts of the security system.
Overall, it can be said that steps are being taken in the field of security and attention has increased. Now, the main issue is the continuous and systematic implementation of these measures with the same standards across all educational institutions. Because security is not just physical protection, but also means the formation of a healthy, controlled, and safe psychological environment".
