Universities offering the most specializations provide extensive educational opportunities across various fields, enabling students to choose according to their interests and abilities. These higher education institutions are distinguished by a rich spectrum of specializations covering science, technology, humanities, and social fields.

It is interesting to know, which universities offer the most specializations?

Regarding the topic, AzEdu.az Education Portal sent an inquiry to higher education institutions.

In response to our inquiry, the Azerbaijan State University of Economics stated that UNEC offers numerous specializations at both bachelor's and master's levels, covering economics, management, business, information technologies, engineering, design, and social fields:

“At the bachelor's level, UNEC offers specializations such as information technologies, information security, computer engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, food engineering, environmental engineering, finance, accounting, economics, business administration, marketing, management, statistics, international trade and logistics, state and municipal administration, international relations, social work, ecology, as well as graphic design, industrial design, environmental design, and fashion design.

At the master's level, UNEC offers economic and management-oriented specializations such as finance, accounting and audit, economics, world economy, statistics, management, marketing, business administration, state and municipal administration, commerce, organization and management of industry, as well as computer science, information technologies and systems engineering, cybersecurity, technological machinery and equipment engineering, food products engineering, expertise and marketing of consumer goods, metrology, standardization and certification engineering, design, and ecology specializations.

This wide variety of specializations indicates that UNEC holds a leading position in training qualified personnel in both classical economic education and modern technological and multidisciplinary fields”.

According to the information received from Azerbaijan University (AU), specializations are taught in various faculties at bachelor's and master's levels:

“Thus, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies offers specializations in information security, information technologies, and computer engineering. The Faculty of Business and Economics trains personnel in international trade and logistics, business administration, economics, finance, marketing, management, accounting, and tourism business organization.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers specializations in special pedagogy, social-psychological services in education, international relations, state and public relations, philosophy, philology (Azerbaijani language and literature), philology (English language and literature), political science, regional studies (European countries), translation (English language), museum, archive work and monument protection, as well as social work.

For specializations taught in English, one academic year is allocated for students' language preparation, and in this case, the total duration of education is five years.

At the master's level, it is possible to study a number of specializations and specializations at Azerbaijan University. For the Philology specialization, there are specializations in literary studies (American literature), literary studies (English literature), Azerbaijani language, Azerbaijani literature, and linguistics (English language). For the Psychology specialization, educational psychology is taught, and for the History specialization, the ancient and medieval history of Azerbaijan, as well as the new and newest history of Azerbaijan, are taught. Master's programs are available for Translation specialization (English language translation), Economics specialization (economics of tourism and legal regulation of economy), Finance specialization (banking and tax and taxation), and Management specialization (human resources management and education management).

In addition, for the Information Security specialization, there is cybersecurity; for the Computer Engineering specialization, computer systems and networks; and for the Social Work specialization, social work in various areas of life activity and youth work. The university also offers an MBA (Master of Business Administration) program. Within this program, it is possible to study the finance, accounting, marketing, and human resources management directions of the business organization and management specialization. Admission to all directions of the MBA program is conducted for both Azerbaijani and English sections. Based on the agreement signed between Azerbaijan University and Tuscia University of Italy in 2023, a dual degree program in the marketing direction of the MBA program is also implemented”.

It has been reported by the Azerbaijan University of Technology (ATU) that specializations in engineering-technology, economics and management, design, and other fields are taught at the bachelor's level:

“Teaching is conducted in both Azerbaijani and Russian languages, and the following specializations are available: information technologies, logistics and transport technologies engineering, metallurgy engineering, engineering physics, process automation engineering, food engineering, radio engineering and telecommunications engineering, environmental engineering, computer engineering, transport engineering, winemaking, electrical and electronics engineering, state and municipal administration, accounting, tourism guiding, and other related programs. Among the new specializations added to the university's admission plan are information security, life safety engineering, international trade and logistics, transport service (for automobile transport), industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and management. These specializations cover technical, technological, economic, and management fields, providing students with broad professional opportunities.

Master's programs further deepen bachelor's education and strengthen specialist training. At ATU, master's level specializations include various fields:

Specializations in textile design and industrial design for the Design specialization; customs affairs in the field of international trade and logistics; international business administration in the business administration program; various fields in the business organization and management (MBA) program – MBA, marketing (MBA), risk management, digital marketing, accounting (MBA), and tourism and hospitality management; regional administration, management of state programs and projects, and state administration in the direction of state and municipal administration; strategic marketing and marketing of service sectors in the field of marketing; innovation management, production and operations management, strategic management, and corporate management for management; process automation engineering and automation and control of technological processes; communication nodes and switching systems for radio engineering and telecommunications engineering; various specializations for winemaking – technology of winemaking and fermentation production, technology of alcoholic beverages, technology of non-alcoholic and low-alcoholic beverages; and tourism and socio-cultural service for tourism and hospitality, etc. programs are available”.

Information has been provided by the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) that at the bachelor's level, ASPU primarily offers specializations in teacher training and socio-pedagogical directions.

"This includes specializations in Azerbaijani language and literature teaching, biology teaching, geography teaching, physics teaching, physical education and pre-conscription training teaching, primary school teaching, informatics teaching, chemistry teaching, chemistry and biology teaching, correctional education, preschool education, music teaching, mathematics teaching, mathematics and informatics teaching, history teaching, history and geography teaching, social-psychological services in education, fine arts teaching, technology teaching, foreign language teaching (English), foreign language teaching (French), social work, and philology (Azerbaijani language and literature). Most of these specializations are taught in the Russian and English sections, in addition to the Azerbaijani section.

At the master's level, ASPU primarily offers directions in the methodology and didactics of teaching for teaching specializations. Master's programs include Azerbaijani language and literature teaching, foreign language teaching (English), physics teaching, mathematics teaching, physical education and pre-conscription training teaching, technology teaching, music teaching, biology teaching, chemistry teaching, history teaching, geography teaching, informatics teaching, fine arts teaching, primary school teaching, correctional education, preschool education and upbringing, and social-psychological services in education. In addition, for the Pedagogy specialization, there are specializations in theory and history of pedagogy, social pedagogy, assessment and monitoring in education, organization and methodology of teaching and learning; for the Management specialization, organization and management of education; and for the Social Work specialization, social work in various areas of life activity and youth work”.

It has been reported by the National Aviation Academy (NAA) that at the bachelor's level, the National Aviation Academy offers specializations in aviation, engineering, economics, and law within various faculties.

"Within the Faculty of Air Transport, bachelor's level education is provided in flight engineering, air traffic management, aerospace engineering, and hydrometeorology specializations. In addition, the academy offers technical specializations such as radio and telecommunications engineering and logistics and transport technologies engineering; there are also bachelor's programs in economics and management fields such as business administration, economics, and management. The Law specialization is also included in the bachelor's level education program. Some of these specializations are taught in Azerbaijani and Russian sections, while others are also taught in English, and in some cases, the duration of study for groups taught in English is 5 years.

At the master's level, the National Aviation Academy offers more professional and in-depth specialization programs. Within the master's programs, it is possible to study in the field of law in directions such as state and municipal law, justice law, and air law and airspace security. For the Economics specialization, there are international economics and economics of service sectors; for the Finance specialization, in-depth training programs in the field of finance. Furthermore, at the master's level in the aerospace field, master's programs are also taught in flight engineering, air traffic management, aerospace engineering, and hydrometeorology. Master's programs in law, economics, and technical fields are conducted in Azerbaijani and Russian sections”.

It has been noted by ADA University that at the Bachelor's level, students at ADA University pursue specializations across various faculties.

"These programs include international studies programs in International Relations and Politics, including international studies, communication and digital media, public affairs, and international relations. Bachelor's programs in Business cover business administration, economics, finance, and other business specializations. In the field of Information Technologies and Engineering, specializations such as computer science, computer engineering, information technologies, mathematics, and electrical-electronics engineering are offered. ADA University also teaches bachelor's programs in fields such as law (LL.B.), agricultural technologies, food technologies, animal sciences, architecture, interior design, urban planning, and communication design.

At the master's level, ADA University offers programs with deeper specializations. These include public administration (in both English and Azerbaijani), diplomacy and international relations, business administration (MBA and specialized programs), computer science and data analytics, electrical and power engineering, computer engineering and high-performance computing, education management, and teaching and learning programs. At the master's level, there are also Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs and agricultural and food systems management programs”.

It has been reported by Baku Engineering University (BEU) that many specializations are taught at the bachelor's level at the university:

“These include specializations in Computer Engineering, Information Technologies, Information Security, Communication Systems Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, Electromechanical and Electronic Engineering, Energy Engineering, Process Automation Engineering, Radio and Telecommunications Engineering, Transport Engineering, Transport and Logistics Technologies Engineering, Services for Transportation (by types of transport), Automobile and Transport Service, Architecture, Design, Urban Planning, Construction Engineering, Technological Process Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Logistics and Transport Engineering, Business Administration, State and Municipal Administration (public administration), Economics, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, International Trade and Logistics, Decorative and Applied Arts, Tourism Business Organization, and Winemaking. Admission for the English section is sometimes conducted jointly, and the duration of study is 4-5 years.

At the master's level, BEU offers master's programs in various engineering, technology, and management fields. Master's specializations include a wide range of technical master's programs, such as environmental engineering and efficient use of natural resources, energy engineering (electrical energy), engineering and process automation, materials engineering, transport structures (roads and aerodromes), management of engineering systems, and chemical engineering. At the master's level, programs such as business administration and project management are also offered in the fields of economics and management; the MBA (Business Administration) program includes specializations in logistics and supply chain management, engineering project management, financial engineering, e-governance, and others. These programs ensure deep specialization for students at the master's level”.

According to the information received from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), specializations in engineering, technology, management, and economics are taught at the bachelor's level at Azerbaijan Technical University.

"These include specializations in information technologies, logistics and transport technologies engineering, metallurgy engineering, engineering physics, process automation engineering, food engineering, radio engineering and telecommunications engineering, environmental engineering, computer engineering, transport engineering, and winemaking. In addition, specializations in socio-economic fields such as electrical and electronics engineering, state and municipal administration, accounting, and tourism guiding are also taught within the bachelor's program. AzTU also trains personnel in newly added specializations such as information security, life safety engineering, international trade and logistics, transport service, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and management.

At the master's level, Azerbaijan Technical University offers specializations in various engineering and technical fields in its master's programs. These include process automation engineering and, in this field, informatics and control in technical systems, information technologies and systems engineering, and telecommunications systems programs. The university's master's programs offer both technical specializations and additional specializations covering economics, logistics, and management fields; the full and precise list of master's program specializations is announced in AzTU's official admission plans and scientific-educational department”.
