Indicators related to students' social status and financing mechanisms in the higher education system for the 2024/2025 academic year have been announced.
According to information obtained by AzEdu.az from the State Statistical Committee, in the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of students studying in full-time departments was 195,216. Thus, 105,961 of them received scholarships. During this period, the ratio of scholarship recipients to the total number of students was 54.3 percent.
Also, in the 2024/2025 academic year, the total number of students studying in higher education institutions was 216,125. Of these, 99,558 studied by fully paying their tuition fees based on a contract. The indicator was recalculated, and it was determined that the ratio of students receiving paid education to the total number of students was 46.1 percent.
The results show that in the 2024/2025 academic year, a significant portion of students pursuing higher education were involved in education through both scholarship and paid education mechanisms. The fact that scholarship recipients constitute a 54.3 percent share among full-time students indicates the broad scope of social support. At the same time, the fact that students receiving paid education constitute 46.1 percent of the total student p reveals that financing in higher education is implemented based on a mixed model and that individual funds, alongside state funds, play a significant role.
