Initiatives aimed at improving the social welfare of education workers have recently generated widespread interest in society.
Within this framework, various discussions are being held regarding the ordered “TəhsilPlus” cards, with particular focus on whether these cards will include transport concessions for teachers.
Regarding this matter, the AzEdu.az Education Portal has sent an inquiry to the Education Development Fund (EDF) concerning the “TəhsilPlus” cards intended for education workers.
In response to our inquiry, the EDF stated that the main purpose of the “TəhsilPlus” card is to strengthen the social welfare of education workers and create real support mechanisms in their daily lives. It was noted that since technical and mechanical adjustment works within the project required a certain amount of time, these stages were implemented sequentially and have now been successfully completed:
“Currently, the cards have been ordered and are expected to be delivered to Baku in the coming months. The distribution of cards, covering over 400,000 education workers in total, will be carried out in stages. This includes not only teachers but also administrative staff working in educational institutions.
Cardholders will be able to benefit from cashback and discount opportunities at medical and health services, sports centers, book and office supply stores, cafes and restaurants, as well as other catering facilities. These concessions will serve to reduce the daily expenses of education workers and expand their social opportunities.
Since the “TəhsilPlus” card has the status of a bank card, it will be possible to use it in metropolitan areas. The application of discounts on metro and buses for various social groups, including education workers, is determined within the competencies of the relevant transport and state agencies. The adoption of decisions in this direction falls solely within the authority of those agencies.
“Developing the “TəhsilPlus” card as a long-term and sustainable platform is one of the main goals. In future stages, the expansion of the partner network and the creation of additional opportunities for education workers are envisioned. The project will be dynamically improved according to the needs of its users".
