Japanese scientists have obtained new scientific results regarding both human organism aging and cancer risk through their latest research on “induced pluripotent stem cells” (iPS cells).
AzEdu.az reports, citing foreign media, that iPS cells are obtained from the p's adult cells under laboratory conditions and have the ability to transform into any cell type. This characteristic enables their widespread use in both regenerative medicine and the treatment of diseases.
Japanese researchers state that the biological potential of these cells is promising in terms of slowing down the aging process and ensuring the regeneration of damaged tissues. However, at the same time, their uncontrolled division can increase the risk of cancer cell formation.
According to experts, in the next phase, the safe application of iPS cells and the preservation of their genetic stability will be one of the main research directions.
Currently, several scientific centers in Japan are conducting research in this direction in cooperation with international institutes.
