Andria Zafirakou, an art and textiles teacher at Alperton Community School in London, has captured the world's attention with her dedication and innovative teaching methods.
AzEdu.az reports that in 2018, she was selected as the winner of the Global Teacher Prize, earning $1,000,000 and officially declared "the world's best teacher.".
Teacher Andria's work is particularly significant for students living in areas of London with high cultural diversity. Her classroom is attended by children who speak more than 35 different languages. To establish a closer connection with her students, Zafirakou learned greeting phrases in each language, which increased the students' motivation for lessons.
