Today marks the 163rd anniversary of the birth of the great enlightener Firidun bey Kocharli.
The AzEdu.az Education Portal has established the “Firidun bey Kocharli Award" since 2020.
For 2026, 10 candidates deemed worthy of the "Firidun bey Kocharli" award have been selected as a result of extensive discussions and evaluations by the AzEdu.az expert group.
Winners of the "Firidun bey Kocharli" Award:
For his essential initiatives related to the promotion of education legislation and the development of the educational process towards successful international trends - Fariz Ismayilzade, Deputy Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, Professor at “ADA” University;
For his achievements in innovative methods in higher education, the implementation of a research-oriented activity program, and professional management - Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Karabakh University;
For the successful development of education in the region and exemplary management activities - Hamid Gasimov, Head of the Central Aran Regional Education Department;
For his analytical approaches aimed at promoting education in the public sphere and improving its quality - Professor Hikmat Alizade, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education;
For high operational efficiency and professionalism in public relations, and for her services in the mutual development of media-education relations - Billura Hajizade, Head of the Media Relations Sector of the Public Relations and Communication Department of the Ministry of Science and Education;
For the successful organization and professional promotion of the admission process conducted at various levels of education - Natig Aliyev, Department Head of SEC;
For the high-level promotion of the image of an exemplary and dedicated teacher in the higher education segment - Arzu Guliyeva, Lecturer at Karabakh University;
For his successful conceptual ideas and proposals regarding the analysis and development of educational issues -
Elmin Nuri, employee of the Center for Social Research, researcher on educational issues;
For her proactive approach and public activity in the field of education - Ilaha Hamidova, Director of Baku City Full Secondary General Education School No. 144;
For the beneficial application of modern teaching models and international practices in a productive secondary education environment - Aysel Guliyeva, Azerbaijani Language and Literature Teacher at Shamakhi district, Dag Goylar village, Full Secondary School No. 2.
The awards will be presented to the winners.
It should be noted that the main purpose of the award established by the AzEdu.az Education Portal is to keep individuals who have contributed to the development of education in the spotlight, and to widely publicize their activities and achievements to the public.
